Product description

The DINIC OM4 outdoor fibre-optic cable, 150 m in length, is a pre-terminated multimode breakout cable with four fibres and LC connectors at both ends. The OM4 fibres have a core dimension of 50/125 µm and are intended for corresponding multimode connections in structured network cabling.

The U-DQ(ZN)BH cable construction is designed for outdoor sections and transition installations. A layer of E-glass yarn provides non-metallic rodent protection. The cable has an outer diameter of 7 mm and a specified bending radius of 140 mm.

The LC/LC termination is particularly suitable for connecting fibre-optic patch panels, LC couplers, distribution frames and active network components with compatible multimode transceivers and LC interfaces.

Compatibility

Suitable for multimode OM4 links with LC interfaces, for example LC fibre patch panels, LC couplers and adaptors, as well as active network components with compatible multimode transceivers such as SFP or SFP+ modules with LC ports. The compatibility of the transceivers and network components used with OM4 must be checked prior to installation.

Notes

A pull-through aid is not included in the cable assembly described and is offered as a separate accessory due to its reusability. When pulling the cable through, particular attention must be paid to the pre-assembled connectors and the specified bend radius.

Selection and practical guidance

When planning a fibre-optic route, in addition to the required cable length, particular attention should be paid to the fibre type, connectors, existing LC interfaces and the multimode transceivers used.

The required cable length should be determined on the basis of the actual route to be laid. For outdoor and building transitions, the permissible bending radius, as well as suitable routing and strain relief for the pre-terminated cable, must also be taken into account.
