Choosing the right jack extension
A 3.5 mm jack extension cable with a plug and socket complements an existing cable. It is suitable, for example, as a headphone extension for a PC or for extending a stereo AUX connection. The stereo versions offered here are designed for analogue audio signals; please also check the pin configuration of your devices before making your selection.
Stereo extension cable, 2 m
The black slim version features copper conductors and shielding. It extends existing headphone or line connections by 2 m.

5 m stereo extension
For extra reach: shielded Slim cable with copper conductors and gold-plated contacts. The total length is the sum of the existing cable and the extension.

The DINIC Box with Euro hole is suitable for display on hooks in specialist shops. Selected versions are available in polybags for servicing, stock management and equipping multiple workstations.
How do you connect a headphone extension cable?
Plug the 3.5 mm plug of the extension cable into the appropriate headphone socket. Insert the existing headphone plug into the socket at the other end of the cable. An existing stereo AUX cable can also be extended in this way. If, instead, you need a direct connection between two device sockets, choose a jack connection cable with two plugs.
Does a stereo extension cable also work for headsets with a microphone?
A three-pin TRS stereo extension cable carries left, right and earth. For a combined headset plug with an additional microphone contact, you’ll need a four-pin TRRS extension cable, such as the 3-metre DINIC 4-pin jack extension cable. The pin configuration of the headset and the device must match. For separate headphone and microphone sockets, you’ll find suitable solutions amongst the jack and headset adaptors.
Is 2 m or 5 m the right length?
Measure the additional cable length required and allow for some slack. An existing 1.5-metre headphone cable, combined with a 2-metre extension, gives a total length of 3.5 metres. Choose the shortest length that meets your needs. With longer unbalanced stereo connections, potential interference depends on the devices, the cable run and the environment.
Can you connect several jack extension cables together?
Mechanically, this is possible provided the plugs and sockets match. However, each additional plug connection introduces another contact point. You should therefore, where possible, select a single extension cable that covers the entire required length.
