Choosing the right adapter for Brazil

When it comes to purchasing, service and project planning, the plug system, electrical requirements and packaging are crucial. Please clarify these points before placing your order to ensure the adapter is suitable for the intended application.

Check the connection orientation and plug system

The adaptors offered here feature a CEE-7/3 earthed socket for the appliance plug and a three-pin Type N plug for sockets in Brazil. They are therefore designed for the ‘earthed socket to Type N’ connection direction. A different adapter model is required for a device with a Brazilian plug to be used with a German socket.

Bulk or DINIC box to suit your needs

  • Bulk – CB-A-0423: ideal for internal stock distribution, assembling service equipment and project-specific requirements.
  • DINIC Box – CB-A-0423KB: the packaging with Euro-holes facilitates display on sales shelves and supports individual dispensing in specialist shops.

Both items feature the CEE 7/3 to Type N connection combination. Choose the packaging that best suits your stock, distribution or service processes.

Check electrical suitability before use

Compare the device’s permissible input voltage and frequency with the mains supply at the point of use. Also note the load limits of the adapter, mains lead and device. The presence of an earth contact does not replace the need to check whether the socket and the entire connection are suitable for the application.

When is a power cable advisable?

For devices with a detachable power cable, a suitable Brazilian power cable can simplify the connection process. Take into account the device’s connection point as well as the requirements of the application. Our guide to power cables and adaptors offers further selection advice.

Frequently asked questions about mains adaptors for Brazil

Is Type N compatible with the Swiss Type J?

No. Despite their similar shape, the plug systems differ in terms of pin geometry. For use in Brazil, use the Type N version suitable for the location.

Does the adapter replace a voltage converter?

No. It merely adapts the plug connection. If the device does not support the local mains supply, a plug adapter alone is not sufficient.
