MAG GmbH’s DINIC power extension cables connect power distribution units, power strips and UPS systems to servers, network components, workstation equipment, as well as industrial, laboratory and AV equipment. A range of lengths, cross-sections, colours and connector types enables power distribution tailored to specific requirements in professional installations.

Plug variants in the range

Depending on the power source and device connection, connections including C13 and C14, C19 and C20, C13 and C20, and C5 and C14 are available. The range is complemented by black and coloured variants, angled connectors and LSZH versions specified for individual items.

How to choose the right power extension lead for IT equipment

To ensure reliable power distribution, the IEC connector, electrical load capacity and installation conditions must all be compatible. You should therefore take into account the entire connection from the PDU, UPS or power strip to the connected device.

Determine the IEC connectors

Check the plug and socket at both ends of the cable. The IEC designation is a more reliable guide than selecting a connector based solely on the shape or size of the connection.

Rated current and cross-section

The rated current, conductor cross-section, cable length and continuous load must be suitable for the load. The technical data and approvals for the specific item are decisive. 3

Installation and labelling

Angled connectors facilitate cable routing in confined spaces. Coloured wires help with the identification of circuits and redundant feeders.

Important safety note: C19 to C14 combination

Such a cable combination can connect a C19 connection, which is designed for higher currents, to a C14 connection that is not intended for the same load. If the current draw exceeds 10 A, the cables and connectors may be overloaded. This can lead to short circuits, damage to technical equipment, as well as fire and personal injury hazards. For reasons of product liability, MAG GmbH does not offer this combination.
