Fibre optic cable LC/APC to SC/APC for FTTH and FTTB connections

LC/APC to LC/APC fibre optic cables for routers and ONTs

DINIC fibre optic patch cables for specialist retailers, system integrators and FTTH installations: these white OS2 single-mode cables connect a fibre optic socket to a router or ONT, provided both connectors are designed for LC/APC. All versions feature LC/APC 8° connectors at both ends, a single fibre (simplex) and an LSZH sheath with an outer diameter of approx. 2 mm. Choose from nine lengths ranging from 1 to 50 metres, each also available in a version supplied in a DINIC box.

Short route to the router

LC/APC-to-LC/APC cable, 3 m, for fibre optic sockets and end devices located close together.

More flexibility with location

LC/APC fibre-optic cable, 20 m for longer connection routes along the planned cable route.

DINIC Box for specialist retailers

Which LC/APC fibre-optic cable is suitable for your connection?

First, check both connection sockets: these cables are designed for LC/APC on both ends. Then select the length based on the actual cable route and the desired product variant. The terms ‘fibre-optic connection cable’, ‘FTTH cable’ and ‘fibre-optic patch cable’ all refer to the same pre-terminated OS2 simplex connection.

Compact connection routes

The 3-metre LC/APC to LC/APC fibre-optic cable connects a suitable fibre-optic socket to the router or ONT in your vicinity. Allow for a little extra length to ensure the cable is laid without tension.

Bridging longer distances

For more distant router locations, the 50-metre LC/APC connection cable is available. A single, continuous cable avoids the need for additional connectors along the route.

LC/APC to LC/APC: Select lengths and items directly

All cables listed: LC/APC 8° to LC/APC 8°, single-mode OS2, simplex, white LSZH sheath, approx. 2 mm outer diameter. The item numbers facilitate clear identification during purchasing, reordering and project planning.

Is this cable compatible with the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber or 5590 Fiber?

Yes, provided the fibre optic module used has an LC/APC socket and the fibre optic socket also uses LC/APC. The FRITZ!SFP modules supplied with these models have LC/APC connectors. If the specifications differ, please check the connection details. The router’s compatibility and network technology must also match the connection. Our guide ‘Which fibre-optic cable for which router?’ provides further guidance.

When do I need an LC/APC to SC/APC adapter?

If the fibre-optic socket has an SC/APC connector and the end device has an LC/APC connector, you will need different connectors at each end of the cable. In this case, choose an LC/APC to SC/APC fibre optic cable. LC and SC differ in design and size; the green colour alone is not sufficient to make the right choice.

What do OS2, Simplex, APC and LSZH mean?

OS2 refers to a single-mode fibre category; Simplex stands for a single fibre. APC 8° describes the angled polish of the fibre end face to reduce back reflections. APC and UPC must not be connected directly to one another. LSZH stands for a low-smoke, halogen-free cable sheath. The guide to LC, SC and ST fibre optic connectors explains more about the different designs.

What length is suitable for a new route location?

Measure the intended route, including the cable duct, bends and connection reserve. For longer distances, lengths of 10, 15, 20, 30 and 50 metres, amongst others, are available. Observe the permissible bend radius as specified in the product guidelines, avoid kinks and tension on the connectors, and protect the fibre end faces from contamination.

Can I extend an existing LC/APC cable?

Yes, using a suitable LC/APC female-to-female coupler and an additional LC/APC cable. You can find suitable connectors under ‘APC adaptors and fibre-optic couplers’. For a new installation, a cable of the required total length is often the simpler solution.
