CEE 7/7 to C19 power cable

C19 power cables for servers, UPS units and devices with a C20 input

DINIC power cables, connecting CEE 7/7 to IEC 60320 C19, link a suitable earth-connected socket to devices that have a C20 input. For system integrators, IT departments and technical procurement teams, a range of lengths, conductor cross-sections and plug designs are available – to suit the routing path and space available in the rack or equipment room.

1.80 to 5.00 m, 3 × 1.0 or 3 × 1.5 mm²; also available with a locking mechanism
  • Straight C19 connector: variants with an angled CEE 7/7 mains plug.
  • C19 coupler with 90° angle: for space-saving cable routing at the device.
  • C19 with locking mechanism: 2.00 m version to prevent accidental disconnection.

Select the connection cable according to the device’s requirements, electrical rating and installation situation. Our comparison of C13, C15 and C19 explains the differences between the connection classes.

Selecting the right CEE-7/7-to-C19 power cable

For servers, storage systems, UPS units and power distribution units, the actual connection available determines the appropriate power cable. C19 refers to the connector on the cable; the corresponding counterpart on the device is called C20. The three-pin connection features a protective earth conductor and differs in design from C13/C14.

Earthing socket on a C20 device

The cables offered here feature a CEE-7/7 earthed plug on the mains side. On the device side, the C19 connector is connected to the corresponding C20 socket. Please check both connections before ordering.

IEC output on a PDU or UPS

If a C19 output on your power distribution unit is to supply a device with a C20 input, you will need a C20 plug on the cable end. You will find C19/C20 IT cables in a separate category for this purpose.

Measure the actual installation route, including a suitable connection reserve. For angled plugs, the product illustration, the position of the appliance connection and the space between adjacent connections are crucial. The variants listed are supplied as bulk goods.

Assess the current-carrying capacity based on the complete cable

C19/C20 belongs to the 16 A connector class in accordance with IEC 60320. However, this does not imply a blanket approval for every connecting cable and installation scenario. Check the rated values of the specific item, the equipment requirements and the permissible load on the power supply. Conductor cross-section, cable length and operating conditions must all be taken into account when making your selection.

For purchasing and project planning: In addition to the item number, please specify the length, conductor cross-section, plug design and required certification marks. This ensures that the initial order and any subsequent reorders can be clearly identified.

Frequently asked questions about C19 power cables

When is an angled C19 connector useful?

If there is limited space behind the appliance, a side cable outlet can make cable routing easier. The CB-19-90 variant features the angle on the C19 appliance side. Its CEE 7/7 mains plug is straight.

What is the advantage of the C19 locking mechanism?

The locking mechanism on the 2.00 m version prevents the plug from becoming disengaged accidentally at the C20 appliance socket. This is useful, for example, when carrying out maintenance work in a rack. You should also ensure that the cable is routed so as to avoid tension and that there is sufficient space to operate the locking mechanism.

Can a C19 replace a C13 connector?

C19 and C13 have different designs and mating connectors. C19 belongs to the C20 family, whilst C13 belongs to the C14 family. You should therefore select the connection cable based on the actual equipment socket. Further combinations can be found in the overview of national power cables.
