Fibre-optic adapter: LC/APC female to SC/APC male, single-mode / simplex

Quick overview

Advantages

• LC/APC socket to SC/APC plug for direct adaptation of different APC connector systems
• For single-mode applications in simplex configuration
• APC polish with an angled contact surface to reduce back reflections
• Compact design for direct use on equipment, patch panels and fibre optic termination boxes
• Enables the connection of existing LC/APC patch cables to SC/APC interfaces without altering the fibre-optic cabling

Product description

The DINIC fibre optic adapter (LC/APC female to SC/APC male) is a passive fibre optic adapter for connecting a single-mode patch cable with an LC/APC connector to an SC/APC socket on a device, patch panel, module or fibre optic termination box. The simplex version is designed for a single fibre-optic connection.

Both connection ends utilise the APC polish with a bevelled contact surface. This design minimises back reflection within the single-mode fibre optic link. The adapter thus enables the transition between LC/APC and SC/APC interfaces without having to alter the existing cable assembly.

Thanks to its compact plug-in design, the adapter can be inserted directly into an SC/APC socket. A single-mode patch cable with an LC/APC connector is connected to the opposite end.

Applications

• Carrier, ISP and telecommunications networks using single-mode fibre
• FTTx, access and backbone cabling with LC/APC and SC/APC interfaces
• Data centres and server rooms
• Building cabling, patch panels and fibre-optic termination boxes
• Laboratory, test and measurement set-ups with LC/APC and SC/APC components

Technical data

Compatibility

Designed for single-mode patch cables with an LC/APC plug on the cable end and components with an SC/APC socket on the opposite end. These include appropriately equipped devices, modules, media converters, fibre-optic CPE, OLT/ONT, patch panels and fibre-optic termination sockets.

Selection and practical guidance

Before use, check the connector type, facet type, fibre type and simplex configuration of the existing connection. This adapter is intended for use with an LC/APC patch cable with a plug connected to an SC/APC socket. For other connector combinations or duplex connections, a fibre-optic adapter of the appropriate design is required.
