2-pin mains lead, C7 coloured
Coloured DINIC power cables with Euro plugs to IEC 60320 C7 bring clarity to equipment set-ups, media technology and service operations. Different sheath colours make it easier to assign cables to workstations, groups of devices or customer installations. The two-pin connection cables are designed for devices with a matching C8 input and do not have an earth conductor.
The cables are rated at 2 × 0.75 mm². Choose the colour, design and packaging to suit your requirements. If you have any questions about connections, our overview of IEC appliance plugs will help.
Coloured C7 power cables – identify equipment more quickly
Choosing the right coloured Euro 8 power cable
C7 power cables are also known as Euro 8 power cables due to the distinctive shape of their device connectors. For specialist retailers, service providers and system integrators, the cable length, plug design and packaging are key factors alongside the connector type. A standardised colour-coding system also helps with the organisation of equipment stocks and recurring installations.
C7 on the cable, C8 on the device
The C7 connector fits into the C8 device socket. This two-pin connection without a protective earth is found, for example, on suitably equipped audio and video devices, receivers and compact power supplies. Always check the actual connection and the device specifications.
Colour as a guide
For example, assign a specific sheath colour to each group of devices, department or customer project. Document the colour scheme and add cable labels where necessary. This ensures that the assignment remains clear even during maintenance and when reordering.

Three options for your order
- Check the connection and electrical specifications: The C8 appliance input, as well as the current and voltage requirements, must be compatible with the connection cable. Take into account the technical specifications and required certification marks for the specific item.
- Determine the routing path and space requirements: Measure the cable route, including an appropriate connection reserve. The white angled version can be useful where there is limited space behind the appliance. Compare the cable exit direction shown in the product image with your installation situation.
- Choose the right packaging for the application: Bulk packaging is suitable for direct supply to appliances and project use. The DINIC box with Euro-hole allows for individually packaged, hanging display in specialist shops.
Frequently asked questions about coloured C7 power cables
Does the cable colour determine the electrical load capacity?
No. The sheath colour is used here for visual identification. The technical specifications of the complete connection cable are decisive for the load capacity. No specific current or voltage class can be deduced from a red, blue or white version.
Will a C7 power cable fit any television or power supply unit?
The type of appliance alone is not sufficient to make a selection. A suitable C8 appliance socket is required. Other appliances, for example, use C6 or C14 sockets or have a permanently attached power lead. You should therefore check the socket type and the manufacturer’s specifications.
Are there coloured power cables with a protective earth conductor?
Yes. For devices with a C14 input, you will find coloured CEE 7/7 to C13 power cables with a protective earth conductor in a separate category. The C7 cables shown here are two-pole and do not have a protective earth conductor.
