Product description

The OM4 outdoor fibre-optic cable uses the U-DQ(ZN)BH cable construction for outdoor and transition installations. The sheath is halogen-free and flame-retardant. The LC/LC termination enables connection to suitable patch panels, distribution frames and active multimode components.

Building connections, campus networks, industrial facilities, technical containers and outdoor distribution frames within a suitable multimode infrastructure.

Compatibility

For LC connectors, LC patch panels and suitable multimode transceivers with an LC port. The fibre type, transmission standard, fibre configuration and optical loss budget must be suitable for the intended connection. The OM4 category alone does not guarantee compatibility with every data rate or transceiver model.

Note on the fibre insertion aid

The reusable DINIC fibre-optic feed-through tool LW-EIN6-15 is available separately. It is suitable for cable diameters of 6–15 mm and has an external diameter of 40 mm. Please take this space requirement into account when planning the conduit layout.

Selection and practical guidance

Check the entire cable route, including building entries and splicing reserves. When pulling the cable through, protect the LC connectors mechanically and do not use them as a pulling point. Take note of the bending radius, installation temperature, as well as any narrow sections and bends in the route.
