Product description

The DINIC VGA to DVI-I adapter connects a VGA socket to a DVI-I interface. It features a VGA / D-Sub 15 (HD15) plug and a DVI-I socket and is designed for the transmission of existing analogue VGA signals.

The adapter operates passively and does not perform any electronic signal conversion. The video signal must therefore already be in the form of an analogue RGB/VGA signal. On the DVI-I side, the analogue lines required for VGA must be available.

This design is particularly suitable for professional IT, AV and service environments where existing VGA cables, monitors, projectors or KVM components are combined with DVI-I-compatible devices. It cannot be used with DVI-D interfaces alone.

Technical specifications

Compatibility

Suitable for VGA components with a D-Sub 15 connector and for devices with a DVI-I interface, provided that analogue VGA signals are output or received via the corresponding analogue pins.

Not suitable: Pure DVI-D interfaces cannot be adapted to VGA using this passive adapter, as DVI-D does not provide analogue signal lines.

Selection and practical advice

Before use, you should check whether the DVI interface in question is actually a DVI-I interface and supports analogue VGA signals. The adapter does not convert digital video signals into analogue VGA signals.
