Product description

The Cat.7 network installation cable C7-500S is a shielded installation cable for structured LAN and Ethernet cabling. The 500-metre reel is intended for permanent installations and features four individually screened wire pairs in an S/FTP PiMF configuration.

The construction consists of 4 × 2 solid AWG-23/1 conductors. The pair-by-pair foil shielding is supplemented by an overall braid, thereby supporting low-interference signal transmission in installation environments with heightened EMC requirements.

The cable is designed for frequencies up to 1000 MHz and a characteristic impedance of 100 ohms. In appropriately configured network links, data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s are possible. The actual performance achievable depends on the total length of the cabling run, the connection components and professional installation.

Compatibility

Suitable for structured cabling systems with compatible Cat.6A/Cat.7 connection components, such as keystone modules, patch panels and network sockets. Separate patch cables are usually used to connect active devices such as switches, routers or PCs. The achievable transmission class is determined jointly by the cable, connection components and installation.

Installation notes

The cable is designed with solid conductors for fixed installation and is not intended for use as a flexible device patch cable.

The specified minimum bend radius during installation is at least 8 times the cable diameter, and at least 4 times the cable diameter once installation is complete.

Selection and practical guidelines

For a Cat.7 cabling run, the network sockets, Keystone modules and patch panels used should be selected to match the required category or channel class.

The 500-metre roll is particularly suitable for larger installation projects involving multiple cable routes, rooms or network connections.
