Cable description
This DINIC FireWire cable connects devices with a 6-pin FireWire 400 interface (IEEE 1394a) with end devices that have a 4-pin FireWire port. Typical application is the coupling of computers/workstations with DV/AV peripherals, audio interfaces or external FireWire devices.
In addition to the data lines, the 6-pin connector also carries a power supply in many implementations, while 4-pin ports are usually designed without supply lines. This makes the cable particularly suitable for installations in which the peripherals are supplied separately.
Article status: End-of-Life (EOL) - no longer in the regular range.
