Product description
The DINIC fibre optic adapter (LC/APC female to SC/APC female) connects a single-mode patch cable with an LC/APC connector to a patch cable with an SC/APC connector. The female-to-female version acts as a passive coupler between the two different fibre-optic connector systems.
The simplex design is intended for a single fibre. Both connectors utilise an APC cut with an 8° angle. This means the adapter is designed for single-mode applications where low back reflections are important.
Typical applications include patch panels, fibre-optic distribution frames and junction boxes, as well as FTTx, WAN and carrier infrastructures. The adapter can be used when switching between LC/APC and SC/APC terminated patch cables within an existing single-mode link.
Applications
- FTTH and FTTB connection technology
- Patch panels and cross-connect panels in data centres and server rooms
- Telecommunications, carrier and access networks
- LAN and WAN infrastructures using single-mode fibre, for example OS2
- Fibre-optic distribution frames and termination sockets in buildings and plant rooms
Technical data
Compatibility
The adapter is designed to connect a fibre-optic patch cable with an LC/APC connector to a patch cable with an SC/APC connector within a single-mode simplex link.
As both ends are female connectors, suitable LC/APC or SC/APC plugs are required on the cables to be connected.
Selection and practical guidance
Before making your selection, you should check the connector type, polish type, fibre type and simplex configuration of the existing fibre-optic link. This adapter is intended exclusively for the LC/APC to SC/APC combination in single-mode simplex applications.
