This hot appliance extension connects an IEC 60320 C14 plug to an IEC 60320 C15 coupling and is suitable for use on appliances with a detachable IEC supply cable, where increased thermal stress can occur at the appliance inlet. The blue sheath colour supports clear assignment in structured cabling (e.g. circuit or device coding).

The C14 plug is designed for connections where the plug temperature must not exceed 70 °C and is designed for a maximum current flow of 10 A. The C15 coupling is designed as a hot appliance version and is typically used for heat-generating consumers and for modern IT/network devices with a suitable IEC interface.
