The adapter provides an HDMI interface via USB-C and connects USB-C-capable computers, smartphones or tablets with HDMI inputs to HDTVs, monitors or projectors. The output includes video and - if provided by the source device - audio.

The aluminium housing is designed for professional use: mechanically stable, compact and with advantageous thermal properties for continuous operation. In practice, a USB-C interface with video output (alt mode, device-dependent) is required for the video function.
