The difference between type M and type D
In India, plug type D is more common than type M. Type D plugs, which have three round pins, are the standard plugs in most households and buildings. Type M is mainly used for larger appliances such as air conditioners and industrial applications. The type M version is designed for 16A and is physically larger than the type D. However, due to its size, it does not fit into a type D socket.
