Country information and alternative categories

Chile and Libya

Due to the given plug design, the 3-pole Italian power cable can also be used in Chile and Libya.

It may be necessary to check whether the CEI specification is sufficient in the respective country.

Ireland, Singapore and Malaysia

Only plug type G, also known as BS 1363, is used here. This is a plug originating from Great Britain, which is used in the area of electrical energy supply for households and generally in the low-voltage network.

The plug is fitted with a 3A, 5A, 10A or 13A fuse.

Syria and Turkey

There is no official standard in Syria and Turkey, but the CEE-7/7 earthing contact plug (type E+F) is commonly used.

In the CEE 7/7 system (also known as earthing contact plug), both protection systems type E+F have been combined in one plug, so that earthing takes place via the contact surfaces type F or the earthing pin type E (French system).

Note: Taiwan power cable (BSMI approval)

Please note for Taiwan: The cable is visually similar to the USA plug, but has a different certification (BSMI). In addition, the conductor cross-section is typically not specified in AWG. For project-safe selection, please check the respective country requirements and device specifications.

Which plug in which country?

For international projects, the question often arises as to which mains plug must be used in the respective country. In some countries - e.g. Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and, in many cases, France - the same plugs are used as in Germany(CEE 7/7).

In Italy (IT) and Switzerland (CH), the following applies: 2-pole mains cables often require the same connection cables as in Germany, but 3-pole versions generally do not fit. In addition, most countries worldwide have their own standards, e.g. DK (Denmark), UK (England), USA (America), JPN (Japan), CHN (China), AUS (Australia), ISR (Israel), RSA (South Africa) or IND (India).

Conclusion

Unfortunately, the mains plugs of this world are not standardised - and this also applies to Europe. For a smooth installation, it is therefore advisable to select according to the destination country, appliance plug, authorisation and cable version.
