LSA connection technology
In communication technology, a special tool, known as a lay-on tool, is used to press the wires of a cable together with their insulation individually into a so-called insulation displacement connector. The excess wire end is shortened by the tool and the insulation of the wire is cut through by the sharp contacts in the metal insulation piercing terminal, creating a gas-tight electrical connection. This connection technology works without soldering, screwing or stripping, which is why it is also known as solderless, screwless and stripping-free technology, or LSA technology for short. The brand name "LSA-PLUS" from ADC Krone is also derived from this.
