The OM4 fibre optic cable with LC/LC duplex connectors is designed for multimode backbones and floor cabling. The duplex design supports parallel transmission paths (TX/RX) and is therefore suitable for switch-to-switch, switch-to-server and patch panel connections.

The LSZH jacket (halogen-free, low-smoke, flame-retardant in accordance with the relevant test standards) supports installations in buildings and technical areas with increased fire behaviour requirements. The violet sheath (RAL 4003) facilitates colour coding close to the standard and quick assignment in rack and route operation.

OM4 is optimised for high data rates in data centre and campus environments (typical applications up to 100 Gbit/s on short to medium distances, depending on transceiver, connector technology and attenuation budget).
