Plug C14 (YP-32)
IEC 60320-C 13 cold appliance plugs are used for the power connection of appliances that do not generate heat during operation. The maximum temperature of the plug must not exceed 70°C and the maximum current flow is set at 10 A. Cold appliance plugs do not fit into warm or hot appliance sockets.
Plug C15 (YC-20)
Hot appliance plugs are used for heat-generating appliances such as mobile hotplates, industrial hoovers, waffle irons or irons of older design and switches (network distributors) of the latest design, with detachable supply cable.
The C15 and C16 are similar to C 13/14. However, the C16 connection has a lock that prevents the connection of a C13 plug. The C15 still fits into the C14 device connection. As a result, a hot appliance cable can be connected to a computer, for example, but a cold appliance cable cannot be connected to a hotplate.
